Quorn Shunter
 Era:  1920s to 1950s
 Duration:  40 minutes to 1hr 30 min depending on options selected
 Loco:  The Loco Roster Label.png has locos available at the  Quorn Loco Depot 
 Consist:  To be shunted by the selected loco to/from various locations

Getting Started:
  1. Open the session SAR Northern Division Free Roam Session V2 into Trainz Driver. To do this:
    • From the Driver/Surveyor loading screen select the route SAR Northern Division (Narrow Gauge) Route v2
    • Then select VIEW SESSIONS
    • Then select the session SAR Northern Division Free Roam Session V2
    • Click DRIVE SESSION
  2. If you have already closed the opening message window then pause the session by pressing the  P  key.
  3. If you decide to set the session clock to a different starting time then follow the instructions shown in the Orders section below
  4. Next locate your loco. Either:-
    • Open the Finder Tool (press  Ctrl   F ) and type, in the Name field, the name of your selected loco, for example SAR T 51 (or just T 51 which should be enough), then click the tick icon, OR
    • Open the Driver List (bottom left of the screen) and then scroll through the list to find either:-
    • the loco name (SAR T 51) OR
    • the driver icon (named Driver 51) - this is a non-animated icon
    then click the drivers Eye icon Driver Eye.png to take control of the loco
  5. Take a few moments to get your bearings. Click Quorn Data (this link will open in this window) to show the location details and track plans for Quorn. In each location details page:-
    • the Tab HM White.png tab gives an overall summary of each location with a "potted" history (where available).
    • the Tab TM Grey.png tab reveals the invisible TM Track Marks for Drive To commands.
    • the Tab IN Grey.png tab lists all active industries and their commodities.
    • the Tab SW Grey.png tab describes the names, locations and settings of all junction switches as well as some switch sets you may want to use.
  6. Each location details page has direct links to the adjacent locations so you can explore along the route.
  7. When you are ready to start, reload the Peterborough Base Session page (click the Scenarios button on your current location page) and select this Scenario again or just use the Back button on your browser - whichever is quicker.
  8. Switch back to Driver Mode
  9. Close the opening message window if it is on the screen OR if Pause is shown on the screen instead, press the  P  key. Both actions will start the session.

Orders:
Perform tasks Ablue.png AND/OR Bblue.png below:-
Ablue.png Assemble empty fuel wagons for scenario  8  Quorn-Peterborough Empty Fuel Freight:-
  1. Move the loco from the  Loco  Depot to the  Fuel  Siding.
  2. Collect the 4 empty Tank wagons stored in the siding and move them onto the  Station  road.
  3. Run the loco around the train
  4. Shunt the wagons back into the  Car Siding  to couple with a Guard Van
  5. Move the consist back onto the  Station  road and run the loco around the train again
  6. Shunt the wagons into  Goods Siding 2  to couple with the fuel tank wagons already stored there.
Bblue.png Assemble freight wagons for scenario  26  Hawker Weekly Freight:-

Note: The Hawker Freight was almost always a short consist but it must include at least one mineral wagon for Hawker

  1. Move the loco from the  Loco  Depot to the Barytes Plant
  2. Collect one or more empty mineral gondolas from the  Barytes Storage Siding  and move them onto  Goods Siding 3 
  3. Optional: Collect one (or more) livestock wagons from the  Stockyard Siding  and attach them to the gondolas stored in  Goods Siding 3 
  4. Optional: Collect any other freight wagons (just a few will do) and attach them to the assembled livestock and/or gondola wagons
  5. The assembled consist MUST include a CR NTB Water Tanker to be positioned immediately behind the locomotive
  6. Collect a Guard Van stored at the  Car Sheds  and attach it to the rear of the Hawker Freight consist on  Goods Siding 3 
You can then:-
