Getting Started:
- If you have already closed the opening message window then the first step is to pause the session by pressing the P key.
- If you decide to set the session clock to a different starting time then follow the instructions shown in the Orders section below
- Select a specific freight service starting at any of Paratoo, Terowie, Gladstone or Quorn from the timetable shown in the Orders section below.
- Next locate a suitable loco at the starting location. Either:-
- Open the Finder Tool (press Ctrl F ) and type, in the Name field, the name of the loco, for example SAR T 250 (or just T 250 should be enough). Click the tick icon, OR
- Open the Driver List (bottom left of the screen) and then scroll through the list to find either:-
- the loco name (e.g. SAR T 250) OR
- the driver icon (e.g. named Driver 250) - this is a non-animated icon
- then click the drivers Eye icon to take control of the loco
- Take a few moments to get your bearings. Click or (the link will open in this window) to show the details and track plans at each location. In each location details page:-
- the tab gives an overall summary of each location with a "potted" history (where available).
- the tab reveals the invisible Track Marks for Drive To commands.
- the tab lists all active industries and their commodities.
- the tab describes the names, locations and settings of all junction switches as well as some switch sets you may want to use.
- Each location details page has direct links to the adjacent locations so you can explore along the route.
- When you are ready to start, reload the Peterborough Base Session page (click the Scenarios button on your current location page) and select this Scenario again or just use the Back button on your browser - whichever is quicker.
- Switch back to Trainz Driver Mode
- Close the opening message window and, if Pause is shown on the screen, press the P key to start the session.

Orders:
- Select a starting location, Paratoo, Terowie, Gladstone or Quorn, and a starting locomotive (see list above):-
- At Paratoo move the consist out of the Loop and onto the main line. Take water, if needed, at Paratoo or Nackara
- At Gladstone move the consist out of the Yard and onto the Broken Hill main line
- At Terowie move the loco from the Depot
- If scenario 14 Terowie Shunter has been not been completed then run that scenario first. It will take approximately 50 minutes
- If the scenario has been completed then collect the loaded wagons waiting on the Relief road in the main Terowie Yard
- At Quorn move the loco from the Depot and couple to the wagons waiting in the Quorn Goods Loop
- Proceed as per the working timetable shown below to a suitable vacant road in Peterborough Yard
- Coal and water the loco at Peterborough Main Loco Coal & Water Stage as needed. You have the option of swapping your loco for another selected from the depot
- Some of the trains have to be divided at Peterborough and may have to be combined with other wagons waiting there
At Peterborough
- Train 230 from Gladstone
- Move the consist onto a vacant Yard
- Coal, Water or Swap the loco with suitable loco from the Depot
- If other transcontinental trains are running to Peterborough (specifically trains 920 and 330) then combine the consists to form a new train
- Proceed to Paratoo as train 127
- Train 820 from Paratoo
- Those wagons with Terowie in their names are to form the first train. Combine this consist with wagons stored on Peterborough Goods Sidings 1 that also have Terowie in their names. Form this consist on a vacant Yard Road
- Those wagons with Gladstone in their names are to form a second train on a different Yard Road. Combine this consist with wagons stored on Peterborough Goods Sidings 1 that also have Gladstone in their names. Select a Guard Van from the shed and attach it to the rear (Paratoo end) of this train
- Those wagons with Port Augusta in their names are to form a third train on another vacant Yard Road
- On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays shunt the wagons waiting on Peterborough Goods Sidings 1 that also have Port Augusta in their name onto the waiting 3rd consist
- On Tuesdays and Thursdays the Port Augusta wagons from train 820 are to be coupled to the Port Augusta wagons stored on the Peterborough Goods Sidings 1 . These will be picked up by a later service (train 320)
- After shunting has been completed
- reattach SAR T 250 (or an alternative loco) to the front (western or Gladstone end) of the Gladstone train
- select an available loco from the main Depot and attach it to the front (eastern or Terowie end) of the Terowie train
- on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays select an available loco from the main Depot and attach it to the front (western or Gladstone end) of the Port Augusta train
- proceed with each train to its destination (Gladstone, Terowie or Quorn) choosing a suitable location at the destination to detach the wagons
- proceed to the local Depot to service the locos
- Train 320 from Terowie
- Those wagons with Peterborough in their names are to be shunted to a vacant yard road or siding
- On Tuesdays and Thursdays the Port Augusta wagons stored Peterborough Goods Sidings 1 are to be combined with those in Train 320
- After shunting has been completed
- reattach the loco (or an alternative loco) to the front (western or Gladstone end) of the train
- proceed with the train to a vacant Quorn Yard
- detach the wagons and move the loco to the Quorn loco Depot for servicing
- Train 330 from Terowie
- Those wagons with Peterborough, Port Augusta or Port Pirie in their names are to be shunted to a vacant yard road or siding
- Attach any waiting wagons with Broken Hill or Paratoo in their names
- After shunting has been completed
- reattach the loco (or an alternative loco) to the front (western or Gladstone end) of the train
- proceed with the train to a vacant Quorn Yard
- detach the wagons and move the loco to the Quorn loco Depot for servicing
- Trains 920 and 921 from Quorn
- coal and water the locos as needed. You can optionally swap them with another suitable loco available at the main Peterborough loco Depot
- Then...
- proceed with each train to its destination (Terowie and Paratoo) choosing a suitable location to detach the wagons
- proceed to the local Depot to service the locos
