Manned station on the Port Pirie-Broken Hill Line .
Station, goods and passing loops with a grain siding and a loco watering facility.
After the conversion of the line to standard gauge (1969-70) Yongala became a passing loop and a grain terminal. The station is no longer in use. Rail passenger services no longer stop at Yongala and have been replaced by a bus service which operates between Adelaide and Peterborough on only 3 days each week.
